Lonnie M. Player, Jr. was born and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina where his family maintained a strong business presence in commercial construction and real estate development for over 80 years. Mr. Player is a 1989 graduate of The Fayetteville Academy and a 1993 graduate of Duke University. From Duke. Mr. Player went on to earn a Master’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1995 before returning home to earn his law degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998. Mr. Player has practiced law in Cumberland County for his entire career, is a Past President of the Cumberland County Bar Association (2006-07), has served as North Carolina State Bar Councilor for the Twelfth (now Fourteenth) Judicial District (2010-18) and as a member of the North Carolina Judicial Standards Commission (2018-23). Mr. Player currently serves on the Local Advisory Board for First Citizens Bank.
A lifelong history buff and advocate for historic preservation, Mr. Player is a past Chairman of the Fayetteville Historic Resources Commission (1999-2003) and currently serves as General Counsel to the United States Army Airborne and Special Operations Museum (2018-present). He has also served on the Boards of Directors of The Museum of the Cape Fear, Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation, Highland Country Club, The Fayetteville Symphony, Highland Country Club, the Fayetteville Museum of Art, Downtown Fayetteville Alliance, Methodist University Board of Visitors, the UNC Law School Alumni Board of Directors and the North Carolina State Judicial Council.

James "Trey" A. McLean, III is an attorney with the firm who concentrates his practice in the areas of complex business litigation, construction law/litigation, real estate litigation, creditor representation in bankruptcy, landlord/tenant relations and debtor/creditor relations. Over the course of his career, Trey has litigated or is litigating matters regarding mold damage, mass financial fraud, statutory construction lien claims, federal Miller Act claims, shareholder dissents, complex business disputes, employer/employee relations, landlord/tenant disputes, the dischargeability of debts in bankruptcy, the issue of relief from the automatic debtor stay in bankruptcy, etc. Furthermore, Trey has significant experience in a transactional practice. Anne Mayo Evans, a native of Tarboro, North Carolina, has practiced law with the firm since graduating from law school in 1987. For more than twenty-six years, Anne’s practice has included experience with commercial real estate transactions, environmental easements, zoning, creditor and debtor issues, condemnation, real estate and construction law claims and litigation, estates, and securities law. She currently concentrates on commercial transactions and leases, construction and corporate law, creditor and collection issues and litigation, and advises clients on a wide range of real property law issues.
Anne obtained her undergraduate degree in 1978 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She graduated cum laude in 1987 from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, Campbell University, where she was a member of the Editorial Board of the Campbell Law Review.
Anne is a former President and First Vice-President of the Cumberland County Bar Association and Twelfth Judicial District Bar and has served on the North Carolina Bar Association Bankruptcy Council and Local Bar Services Committee. She is active in her community, having served on the Vestry of St. John’s Episcopal Church and as a member of its Investment Committee and Junior Warden. She has also served on the Boards of various local organizations, including the Center for Economic Empowerment and Development and Cape Fear Regional Theatre.
Outside of the office, Anne enjoys boating of any type, travel and gardening, especially with friends and family.
Jennifer Malone was born in Pensacola, Florida and was raised in a military family, living throughout the Southeast. She attended The Florida State University, graduating in 1998, summa cum laude, with a Bachelors of Arts in International Affairs and History. She went on to earn her law degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D. C., where she served as an editor on the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. Admitted to practice in Florida since 2001, Malone practiced criminal law there for six years before relocating to the Fayetteville area. Malone was admitted to practice in North Carolina in 2012. Her focus at the firm is in Estate Planning and Administration, Civil Litigation, and Appellate Practice.
Stacey E. Tally, a native of Houston, Texas, graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts, with distinction, in History and Spanish, and then went on to receive her law degree, magna cum laude, from the Charleston School of Law in 2009. While in law school, Stacey served as an Articles Editor for the Charleston Law Review, was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity, and worked as a law clerk at a multi-specialty business law firm each summer and during the school year. After graduating from Charleston Law, she moved to Fayetteville and clerked for the Honorable Cheri L. Beasley on the North Carolina Court of Appeals. In 2011, Stacey joined a local Fayetteville law firm, where she had a diverse civil litigation practice with a heavy focus on research and writing, and practiced there for six years until going in-house to work as Assistant Counsel at Cape Fear Valley Health System. At the hospital, Stacey oversaw the Contracts Department, and provided counsel to the health system on various legal matters, including interpretation and application of healthcare laws and regulations, contract issues, and risk management and liability matters. In 2019, Stacey returned to private practice and joined Player McLean, where she focuses on civil litigation, transactional law, and an expanding appellate practice. Stacey speaks very good Spanish and enjoys hanging out with her husband, Jesse, and their two sons in her spare time.
